Sugarloaf Pediatrics is committed to providing quality medical care with a small town feel. Your child will always see their own doctor and you will speak with Dr. O’Brien personally after hours. We believe in a team approach to your child’s healthcare with the parents playing a crucial role. We will strive to promote a friendly, non-threatening, educational, caring environment in which your child will learn the value of health and how to care for their body.

 

Meet Doctor O’Brien

I grew up in Rotterdam, New York as the oldest of three girls. My desire to become a pediatrician began in second grade. My pediatrician, Dr. Schapiro, was a wonderful role model. My parents and grandparents provided me with tremendous support and encouragement. Upon high school graduation, I attended Siena College where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Following college, I journeyed to Washington, DC to pursue medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. I performed my pediatric residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Upon completion of my residency in 1999, I began to practice general pediatrics.

I always imagined myself as the small town pediatrician helping to promote and oversee the health and well being of the children in my community. After moving to Deerfield in 2001, I quickly realized that this was the perfect area to do so. June 2009 marked the completion of my tenth year in pediatric practice. I felt that this was the perfect time to open my own practice and provide quality, personalized pediatric care.

I live in Deerfield with my husband, Liam, and my two sons, Connor and Aidan. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, scrapbooking, travel, and spending time with my family. I feel blessed to be a pediatrician and I feel honored to care for your children. The children I see every day remind me what life is all about. I look forward to watching your children develop into young adults and working together with you as a team along that journey.
